Your child deserves a free checkup, and you’ll get one at Brident. Find a location

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends all children get an orthodontic exam by their 7th birthday

Why seven?

At seven, most kids’ permanent teeth are just starting to come in. This is the perfect chance for the orthodontist to assess your child’s bite and see how those grownup teeth are looking.

Say “aah”!

The orthodontist will do a thorough check of your child’s jaw and how their teeth align (or don’t). She might also take a mold of your child’s mouth as well as panoramic X-rays to see your child’s incoming grownup teeth!

Our plan for your child’s future smile

If your orthodontist recommends braces or any other treatment, don’t wait! Fixing dental problems is easier the earlier they’re treated. Speedy treatment can prevent long-term problems with speaking and chewing later down the line.

Signs your child might need to see the orthodontist

Some problems can only be caught and diagnosed by a licensed orthodontist, but teeth have a way of warning you about future problems. If your child experiences any of the following, take advantage of our free orthodontic consultation.

  • Abnormally early or late loss of baby teeth
  • Difficulty chewing or biting
  • Breathing through their mouth
  • Thumb-sucking
  • Crowded, misplaced or blocked-out teeth
  • Teeth that don’t meet normally or at all
  • Shifting and/or noisy jaw
  • Grinding or clenching teeth
  • Biting cheeks or the roof of their mouth
  • Trouble speaking
  • Uneven facial appearance
  • Jaw appearing too far forward or too far back

Every tilted tooth is unique

Our certified orthodontists know that no two mouths, jaws, or teeth are the same. That’s why they’ll do a comprehensive analysis of your child’s entire dental structure, then work with you to create a plan on how to fix it. We see a healthier bite and a straighter smile in your child’s future, just book a consultation today!
