Only you can fight cavities.

Your weapons? A toothbrush and toothpaste, of course! Brush at least twice a day and don’t forget to floss. Good brushing and flossing is the best way to keep bacteria at bay.

How to treat cavities

Cavities are the worst. They’re painful, and if you don’t treat them, they can lead to infections and even tooth loss. If your dentist finds one, she’ll recommend treating it right away.

Anyone can get a cavity, even the best brushers and flossers, so don’t feel bad. Just be sure to get it fixed!

When you need a cavity filled, we will:

  • Make you as comfortable as possible.
  • Numb the area around the tooth so it won’t hurt. If you feel any pain after the area’s been numbed, be sure to tell your dentist. You might need more medication.
  • Remove the decayed parts of the tooth.
  • Clean every surface.
  • Fill the cavity to create lasting repair for your tooth.

Choices, choices, Which filling should I pick?

These days, you can get gold, porcelain, silver, or even plastic resin fillings. Studies say each method is safe, effective and can last up to 15 years. That’s a long time!

Your dentist will explain the pros and cons of each filling material, and our staff will pay close attention to your insurance plan so you can make the best choice for you.

Some people develop tartar and cavities faster. For example, pregnancy comes with a host of hormonal changes, some of which can cause gum disease. Pregnant people and those with conditions like diabetes may need more frequent checkups.

Your hygienist and dentist are checking your overall health, too. Oral health is linked to heart health, and dentists are often the first caregivers to find oral cancers and tumors.

We’re always here to help, because your smile matters.

Healthy teeth are our number one priority. Even if you don’t have insurance or fat stacks of cash, we’ll help you find a way to afford the care you deserve. We’ll even loan you the money so you can pay over time.
